New Recruits on the Horizon By Coach Dena O'Connel...

Ready for a new season of volleyball. We are! We have new recruits coming in.

Nancy Vickerson; 5'8 Outside hitter, Communication Science & Disorder major, Nancy attended Tamamac High School in Troy, Ny. Nancy was a 3-yr letter winner, MVP 2007-2010 and won the scholar athlete award from 2008-2010.

In 2010 Nancy team went undefeated and was the Wasaren League Champs. Nancy has been on the all-conference team from 2008-2010.

Nancy played club volleyball for the North Country Albany Jr's. and Legion. IN 2008-2009 her team took 1st place gold at regionals in Port Jarvis, Ny. In 2009, they took 3rd place gold in the Capital Hill Classic in Washington, DC. In 2011 they took 3rd place in the Beast of the East @ the East Coast Championships.

Nancy has won the Scholar Athlete Award twice, the Brown University Book Award, the Foreign Language Award, Outstanding Athlete Award and the President's Education Award. Nancy is a member of the National Honor Society and has been on the honor throughout her high school career.

Nancy Parents are Tim and Lisa Vickerson.


Maggie Shrantz;A 5'7 Right side hitter Psychology major, Maggie attended Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Ny

A 3yr varsity letter winner; Maggie was MVP in 2007, A New York State AA Section VI semi-finalist 2008-09, ECIC Div I first team 2009, Captain her senior year.

Maggie Played club volleyball for Niagra Frontier Volley FX 17-1, VFX Rapture and numerous other club teams. In 2010 Maggie led her team to the championship at the MLK tournament in Ohio and in 2001 was runner-up at the GaRat in Genvea Ohio.

Maggie's parents are Dave and Tracey Shrantz.


Meghan Clifford; 5'5 setter, Mathmatics major. Meghan played for Lakeland High School 2008-11 in Shrub Oak, Ny.

Megahan participated on the Super 70 team 2010-11. Was all-league her senior year class A section 1.

Meghan was picked for the Scholar -Athlete Award and made honer roll her senior year.Meghan played for Downstate Volleyball Club her freshman through senior year.

Parents are John and Mary Clifford.


Keely Fink;5'7 DS/OH, undecided in major. Keely Attended Arlington High School in LaGranville, Ny.

A 2yr varsity letter winner, Keely helped her team win league, sectional and regional championship in the 2010-2011 season. Her team made it to the New York High School State Championship which was the first time in Arlington history.

Keely played for the APEX Volleyball Club team 2008-2010, and Downstate in 2011

Keely was a member of the National Honor Society and Student of the Month.

Parents are Stephan and Maureen Fink.
